I am a Clinical Psychologist licensed in the States of Washington, California and Hawaii. I am also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Lic. No. LF 00000831). I am a Fellow and Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and Psychodiagnosticians and I am certified as a registrant in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the Washington State Psychological Association, and the Christian Association for Psychological Studies.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology magna cum laude from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California in 1976. In 1980, I completed my Master of Arts degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. In 1982, I completed my Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Psychology, Fuller Theological Seminary, in Pasadena, California. My clinical training included a clerkship from 1980 to 1981 at Los Angeles County - University of Southern California Medical Center. I also completed APA approved predoctoral and postdoctoral clinical psychology internships from 1981 to 1983 at Camarillo State Hospital in Camarillo, California. My theoretical orientation is Cognitive-Behavioral, and eclectic. I have been a provider of psychotherapy and psychological assessment services in inpatient and outpatient settings since 1983. I have over thirty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of problems including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, behavioral problems, parenting issues, school problems, family problems, marital problems, abuse, grief and loss, and spiritual issues. I have extensive experience and interest in the assessment and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and the difficulties associated with this disorder. As a primarily pediatric Clinical Psychologist, I especially enjoy working with children (ages 4 and older), teens, and families, However, I do work with adults and senior adults as well as children.
I am a Psychologist licensed in the State of Washington. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois in 1968. In 1982, I obtained my Doctoral degree in Philosophical Psychology from the University of Nevada-Reno. I have been a licensed Psychologist since 1985.
I have worked extensively with children, teens, and adults, particularly in the following areas: anger management, anxiety and panic disorders, depression, grief, childhood, teen and adult attention problems (ADD/ADHD), childhood anxiety/fears. I am also very experienced in couples and marital counseling, co-dependency issues, and in helping men with pornography/sexual addictions.
I am a Psychologist licensed in the State of Washington and I have over thirty years of clinical experience. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in 1970. I received my Master of Arts degree in Psychology in 1974 and my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1977, both from the University of North Dakota in Grand Fork, North Dakota.
My expertise is with the general adult clinical population. Trauma, chronic pain, and couples therapy are my special interests.

In 1978, I received my Master of Arts degree from Chapman University. In 2001, I obtained my Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Washington School of Professional Psychology. I also have credentials as a Mental Health Counselor and Drug and Alcohol Counselor, and I am Nationally Certified as a School Psychologist. I am also trained as an EMDR therapist.
I have over thirty years of experience in the mental health field. I am experienced in providing psychological evaluations as well as individual, group, family and couples therapy. I specialize in trauma treatment. I also specialize in the evaluation and treatment of Asperger’s Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorders. In therapy, I work from a constructivist/existential perspective , and practice from an equalitarian point of view.

My clinical training includes externships at Los Angeles County, USC Medical Center and Biola University Counseling Center where I provided psychological assessment, biofeedback and psychotherapy in an adult outpatient population. I completed a predoctoral internship at Norwich University Counseling and Psychological Services in Northfield, Vermont in 2006. I have worked with a variety of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, and marital problems. My theoretical orientation is psychodynamic and eclectic. Over the years, I have worked in private practices and in a brain injury treatment program in Houston, Texas, where I specialized in conducting neuropsychological assessments for adolescents and adults with traumatic brain injuries and other neurological disorders. I also provided cognitive rehabilitation services in the Project ReEntry program, teaching compensatory strategies to remediate cognitive deficits and assisting individuals in their return to employment.

I provide counseling services to adults and children. I have experience working with a wide range of issues including anger management, chemical dependency, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, abuse, sexual abuse, abandonment, domestic violence, grief and loss, and personal growth. I specialize in the treatment of trauma and trauma related illnesses. My theoretical orientation is cognitive-behavioral. I work with clients to identify how cognitions impact and influence the behaviors they would like to change. I work with them to develop and to utilize new strategies to cope with their problems and concerns.

The office staff is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The professional staff is available Monday through Saturday. Daytime, evening, and limited weekend appointments are available at the center. Payment Plans Psychologists and therapists at Peninsula Psychological Center, Inc., P.S. are preferred providers for a number of insurance companies including Aetna, First Choice, GEHA, Group Health, Humana LifeSynch Behavioral Healthcare, KPS Health Plans, LifeWise, Magellan, MHN, MultiPlan, Optum Health, PacifiCare, Premera Blue Cross, Regence Blue Shield, Tricare, Uniform Medical, United Behavioral Health, and most other insurance plans.
